Connecting Ingenious MCP and ChatGPT

Learn how to connect the INGENIOUS.BUILD MCP Server to ChatGPT.

Overview

INGENIOUS.BUILD supports remote MCP servers through ChatGPT Developer Mode. Once connected, ChatGPT can securely interact with your INGENIOUS.BUILD workspace directly from your conversations.

Prerequisites

A ChatGPT Plus or Pro account

Setup

1. Enable Developer Mode in ChatGPT

Open ChatGPT, then go to:

Settings → Connectors
(or Settings → Beta Features)

Enable Developer Mode to unlock custom MCP connectors.


2. Add the INGENIOUS.BUILD connector

In Settings → Connectors, click:

Add connector or + New connector

Enter:
  • Name: INGENIOUS.BUILD
  • URL: https://mcp.ingenious.build/mcp
  • Click Add

3. Sign in to INGENIOUS.BUILD

ChatGPT will open the INGENIOUS.BUILD sign-in flow in a popup window.

Sign in with your INGENIOUS.BUILD account to securely connect your workspace. Authentication is handled automatically using OAuth + PKCE, so there are no client IDs, secrets, or API keys to manually configure.

4. Start using INGENIOUS.BUILD in ChatGPT

Once connected, you can ask ChatGPT to help with tasks such as:

  • Find overdue RFIs
  • Summarize pending change orders
  • Review budget variances
  • Create meeting minutes
