The Specifications module in INGENIOUS.BUILD uses OCR to organize documents by division and section, ensuring accuracy. Using vector PDFs and consistent formatting enhances automated organization.

With INGENIOUS.BUILD, streamline specification management by leveraging OCR-driven automation for accurate organization and seamless collaboration, saving time and reducing errors in project documentation.

Tips for Accurate Specification Uploads

  1. Use the Right File Type:

    • Preferred: Vector PDF or TXT files (e.g., PDFs created from Word or Google Sheets).

    • Avoid PDFs from scanned documents, as OCR cannot reliably interpret them.

  2. Maintain Consistent Formatting:

    • Follow a uniform layout throughout the document.

    • Recommended Format: MasterFormat CSI, widely used in the USA and Canada.

  3. Clearly Define Sections:

    • Start of Section Example:

      SECTION XXXXXX - SECTION NAME 
      PART 1 - GENERAL

    • End of Section Example:

      END OF SECTION XXXXXX

  4. Set Proper Page Dimensions:

  • Ensure pages are 8.5” x 11” with a vertical orientation
